- The wallet unlocks with your password once per session, and locks itself after 15 minutes of inactivity. Change that in Settings → Security → Lock automatically, or lock it at any time from the top bar. On macOS and Windows it also locks when your computer sleeps or its screen locks.
- Showing a recovery phrase, saving a backup, removing an account and changing your password always ask for your password again.
- Settings → Security → Change password re-encrypts every key and phrase. Backups saved before the change still open only with the old password.
- Everything the wallet keeps beside your keys, such as account names, contacts and the app’s logs, is encrypted too.
Backing up
Your wallet password protects the wallet on this computer, but it isn’t a backup. If this computer is lost or broken, what brings your accounts back is:- Your recovery phrases, written on paper.
- Your single keys’ backup files, saved with Save backup in Settings → Accounts.
- Hardware wallet accounts are backed up by the device’s own recovery phrase.
