# Sending and receiving in Parallax Wallet

> Send and receive LAX, follow your history, keep an address book and sign messages in Parallax Wallet.

## Sending and receiving

* **Receive** shows your address, a **Copy** button and a QR code. Only
send LAX on the Parallax network (chain ID 2110) to it.
* **Send** takes an address or a contact's name, and an amount (**Max**
sends your whole balance less the fee). The network fee is
**Suggested** by your node, or **Custom** if you'd rather set it. You
review the fee and the total before anything is sent, and the app warns
you when something looks off, such as sending to yourself or paying far
  more than needed.
* A send that's still waiting can be sped up, or cancelled, from its row
in your activity: both replace it with the same transaction (or 0 LAX
to yourself) at a higher fee.
* **History** lists everything you've sent, received and mined, with
filters and search, and **Export** saves it as a CSV file.
* **Contacts** is your address book: names, notes and favourites, which
you can import and export as JSON or CSV.

Sending needs your node running and in sync. More in
[Sending and receiving LAX](../wallets/send-and-reveive).

## Signing messages

**Sign message** proves you own an address by signing a short message
with it; **Verify message** checks someone else's signed message. The
app uses the standard personal-message signature (EIP-191), so other
wallets can verify it too.
